Mission 36: Make Incompatible Habits Work For You
This is a particularly strategic mission.
Here, we’ll look for things you already do, idiosyncratic habits, behaviors that come naturally.
And we’ll leverage them to help with other, more difficult behaviors – like eating well and sticking to your exercise program.
Don’t be surprised if you get some big gains for small actions.
That sounds pretty good, huh?

Our group examples: Read in bed without a snack
If you snack at night after dinner, but feel highly motivated not to snack after going for a walk, wait one hour after a meal for your food to digest before exercising or walking. This is also a personal choice
If you would love a dog, but find it hard to get motivated to exercise, check your landlord for pet requirements – if you want to take your cat for a walk purchase a pet stroller – walking buddy. Landlords
cannot deny a Seeing Eye dog.
If you can’t resist cookies with your afternoon coffee, then give tea in the afternoon – this applies to 4 o’clock tea time in England
If you love working out to certain songs, download the songs you love so the most motivating songs are 15 minutes in. Our living quarters are only large enough to do stretches
What works for one person may not work for another person
My group has made the following decisions:
We do not read books, magazines or mail in bed. We suggest meditating or listening to music.
We agree with walking after dinner after a 30 minute wait for food to digest.
Our pets are cats as where we live no dogs allowed. With a pet stroller your cat can become your walking buddy.
We drink mostly coffee occasionally tea.
Computer oriented people can play computer games for an hour instead of snacking. Find something else to do that you like instead of snacking.
This is easier for me cause a lot of those ideas, I don’t do anyways. The motivation has been there for a while, I find excuses to be able to do a workout now, not to avoid one:)
