Mission 11: Use A Weekly Action Tracker

We’ve all had the experience of wanting desperately to make changes in our lives, but finding, over time, that our motivation flags and our good intentions fall by the wayside.

If this describes countless weight-loss attempts for you, then don’t despair.

You can forgive yourself, because life intervenes. Even the most motivated person can lose focus in the face of family, work, the economy, and relationships – life!

However – and this is a mammoth however – this time things are different. In this mission, I’m going to give you a tool that will help you to sustain your focus, despite the intrusion of life.

This tool is so powerful that if you use it, you will find it difficult not to succeed.

Note the ‘if you use it’ qualification. The best hammer ever invented is useless until you pick up that thing and start thwacking it around.

Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.

~ Johann von Goethe

Really loved this topic. As a list person I fully get the psychological benefits of keeping a checklist. My battle is to accept and observe the imperfections. I have created my list and look forward to keeping my health goals In mind all the time and not fall apart when something else takes my focus.

Our group responses are: Happiness list: Smile daily; Laughing is good for the soul; Visiting the persons you love on a monthly basis
Weekly Action Tracker: Pop [not good for you]; juices; tea; coffee; water can be included in the 8 glasses you drink per day.
The following are the drinks we like: Orange Juice has Vitamin C; 1% Milk.
Eating Actions: For Healthy Cooking using Olive Oil; low fat dairy; one egg instead of two; eat plenty of fresh frozen vegetables.
Use Sea Salt instead of regular salt.
Act II popcorn has a lot of fiber in it and is good for dieting.
Use Promise Butter 80 Calories — 5 Calories I do not use as there is no taste.
This butter is better for you heart.
Exercise Actions: At your home in the evening before bedtime: Use an empty box, container or basket. Then gather the items and put them back where they belong.
Instead of the elevator take the steps where you live unless you have a medical
problem/condition. Use caution if your steps are solid cement.
Mind-set & Other Actions: Saturdays is ME day: Take a nature hike; listen to music; read a book; go to the movies; have a friend over in the evening to play Scrabble, or spend time
with your pet [cat or dog] etc.
Radiation is the reason microwaves are not good to cook in.

I took the sample tracker and will print it , I have been logging all my exercise and food in myfitnesspal but but for journaling and writing my feelings and mindset, it will be more challenging. I made a cake yesterday and didn’t get into the cake dough, which was my bigger struggle for a long time. I can finally start again to bake and not be afraid that the dough won’t make it to the oven:)
I have some good news from yesterday. I went for my evaluation at the gym and I have lost 8 pounds in a month and 5 more inches. Total as of yesterday: 28 pounds and 13 inches lost since the beginning of my weight loss journey:) My trainer was really impressed. I have 7 more pounds to go to make it to my goal:)
