Mission 1: Unlock Your True Motivation
There’s a reason this mission is the first one.
Without motivation, you’re unlikely to succeed at your weight-loss goal.
The best knowledge, support, tools and resources will not be enough if they’re unsupported by a strong desire to be slimmer. No matter how good my system and suggestions are, you have to implement them. I can’t do this without you.
With motivation, you will succeed.
You may not lose as much weight as someone else, or at the same speed, but you will get slimmer. It’s that simple.
The secret is to tap into your true motivation for losing weight – which is often not the reason you think you want to lose weight.
This true motivation is the source of your weight-loss success.
So let’s find it and unlock its power.

I have completed Mission 1. I came up with what excites me about losing weight is having a healthy baby.

I have two big motivators: 1) I want my children to not tell me that I look pregnant when my youngest is 5 1/2 years old and 2) I want to bring back the “look” in my husband’s eyes that he had when we met that sometimes I now see when he looks at a thinner woman in a store.

I had lots of “shoulds” for motivation, but I did find a more true motivation for my self, tucked away in a memory. I remember how happy and fun I was a couple years ago when I got within 7 lbs of my “livable” goal. I had much better self-esteem and I had more confidence. My husband called it my “sexy attitude”. He misses it too.

Same here. Dessie is my sister and we are doing this together. We have had a lot of huge challenges around us, so we are adding a ‘great (as in good) challenge’ by doing this for ourselves.

I have never been in a healthy weight range my entire adult life (I’m in my late 30’s) – and I don’t want my son to pick up my bad habits. I have other motivators too but these are my main 2.

What a great way to start this program. I want to wake up in the morning feeling energized, I think my body is working too hard processing what I eat to rest, I also want to lose weight in the hope that it will improve my breathing at night, which will also make me feel better in the mornings.
