There’s a reason this mission is the first one.
Without motivation, you’re unlikely to succeed at your weight-loss goal.
The best knowledge, support, tools and resources will not be enough if they’re unsupported by a strong desire to be slimmer. No matter how good my system and suggestions are, you have to implement them. I can’t do this without you.
With motivation, you will succeed.
You may not lose as much weight as someone else, or at the same speed, but you will get slimmer. It’s that simple.
The secret is to tap into your true motivation for losing weight – which is often not the reason you think you want to lose weight.
This true motivation is the source of your weight-loss success.

I want to be healthier, and therefore slimmer, because I want the energy and confidence to do whatever I want to do without feeling like I am inept, inadequate, or undeserving, just because I am overweight.

One thing that I really picked up on in my writing for mission one is that I had a lot of words such as settling and giving up. It became clear that regardless of what I did I already had in my mind that I would fail or wasn’t worth trying to change.
My main motivation for wanting to lose weight then is to regain the confidence and self worth I have deemed myself unable to have for so long. I have been through several weight loss programs and currently do weight watchers although I’m not seeing many results. I used to be the skinny girl and now thanks to 2 kids and medication that has made me gain close 70 lbs since I began it I have all but given up. I refuse to take diet pills as I find them unhealthy and do stick to a generally plant based healthy diet but it seems as though nothing works.. I love this approach though so I look forward to gaining more insight and losing more weight lol

I think my primary motivation is to be more self-confident…so I wrote “be confident” on bright pink post-its and put them on my desk (where I spend most of my time), on the fridge at eye level and in my wallet where I’ll see it when I’m tempted to eat out or buy fast food…I’m really surprised how good it feels just to do this and see this cheery, encouraging reminder!
Plenty of reasons- but the key is desire, not logic
I have completed Mission 1. I chose the sentence I want to lose weight because…. I didn’t realize I had so many reasons to lose weight. I plan to look at this list everyday.
I’m ready to be HOT at age 43!
