Day 30: Spread Your Weight-Loss Awesomeness Across Your Life | 30-Day Weight Loss-athon

Day 30: Spread Your Weight-Loss Awesomeness Across Your Life | 30-Day Weight Loss-athon

It’s time for the final day of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon. What a journey it’s been!

All tasks in the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon are adapted from my 52 Weight Loss Missions program.

Read the steps first, then take 10 minutes to think about and complete them. Ready?

What You Need:

  • A good look at what you’ve achieved over the past month.

Step 1

As you lose weight, you’ll enjoy a greater sense of self-mastery.

You’ll think, Hey I did that!

Then you’ll start to think, I wonder what else can I do..?

You’ll see yourself as capable of impressive things, and it’s natural that you’ll want to apply this new-found confidence to other areas of life.

This is fantastic, because it creates an upward spiral in your life – every success gives you greater confidence and motivation to cross-fertilize everything else.

And that means you can end up with further weight-loss success too.

Now that you know what you’re capable of, let’s raise the standard elsewhere in your life, too.

So as our first step, let’s decide to spread the confidence around.

Step 2

So… where else can you expect more of yourself?

For example, you may feel drawn to one or more of these:

  • No longer reading magazines that put people down
  • Dressing better every day
  • Making more effort with your grooming or appearance
  • Focusing on your posture – standing, sitting and walking tall
  • Speaking up in meetings
  • Asking for what you want – graciously but clearly
  • Giving up junk entertainment – TV shows, books and movies that don’t enrich your life
  • Giving up gossip
  • Being more positive
  • Showing more kindness
  • Learning public speaking
  • Reading inspiring books and biographies
  • Learning a new skill
  • Seeking a promotion at work
  • Decluttering your home
  • Organizing your home
  • Organizing your life and goals
  • Designing a new life
  • Organizing your business.

Make a list of ways in which you’d like to raise your standards across your life. Only add things to your list if they inspire you.

Step 3

Now, ask yourself what you have to do in order to hold yourself accountable and put these changes into practice. What actions do you need to complete?

Bonus Step For 52 Weight Loss Missions Members

Review the examples of actions for each suggestion in Step 2 from Mission 52: Raise Your Standards.

Step 4

Whatever areas you’ve chosen for higher standards in your life, make sure you’ve identified the actions you’ll complete in order to put them into practice.

Then, either start them now, or assign them to a specific date in your diary. And do them.

Because, remember: in all areas of your life, including weight loss, it’s not what you know – it’s what you do!

In this program you’ve applied that principle and taken action in 30 important ways. Congratulations! You are amazing.

Now, let taking action be your mantra in the rest of your life.

What are you waiting for? Go be amazing in whole new ways. :-)

Check in!

And you’re done!

There are several suggestions I can use. Be more positive, get rid of more clutter, dress better every day whether I go anywhere or not, and I am already taking classes for my new degree. Thanks Michelle!

Coincidentally, throughout this month I found myself doing quite of few things on the list, being positive, enlarging my reading scope, de-cluttering (home and mind) and working on the no gossip thing. Thanks so much for this wonderful month, great wake up call for me. Will miss you.

The scales and I are still not friends, however, in this past month, I am stronger, faster, leaner and meaner. I get what I want, and don’t fret much on the things I cannot change. I have learned the tools that will I will continue to carry with me, to make me a more confidant individual. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thank you Michelle. I am going to feel lost not checking in here each day now. It just became a habit to me. As promised yesterday I have started fresh today and followed the plan to the letter even increasing my exercise to an hour on the cross trainer and eating lots of healthy food. My next goal is to declutter this house and get it into some kind of order because at the moment I am just not happy with it. I will be following your 52 declutter missions to do this so you cant get rid of me that easily yet 🙂

  7. Rebekah Hendy says:

Thank-you very much for all the helpful comments you’ve given me this month it’s really pointed me in the right direction now. The main area that needs doing is.
decluttering which I’ve been doing bit by bit and thanks for the helpful advice to help declutter your house (life). When I finish decluttering I’m going to get my house more organized and my life also. I think they both run beside each other you fix one and it will fix the other to as you feel more on top of things that used to be a burden in your life. I’m also planning a new life but that will depend on when we sell our property. Thank-you once again if I ever need helpful advice again I know who to turn to.

Did anyone else notice how few people made it through the 30 days? Congratulations to everyone who stuck with the commitment they made with themselves, I know I’m proud of how far I’ve come in the last 30 days. This was such a great starting point! Today’s post is full of great suggestions. I will be working on simplifying my life, so I feel less frazzled and more accomplished. Good Luck to everyone as they move forward, keep up the good work!

sorry I am a day late, big day yesterday with a family funeral.
sorry to see this come to an end but hopefully it has started us all in the right direction. I have written in my diary what I want to do next. de clutter my home, and my mind. The mind part means taking time to meditate even if its 10 minute one each day. I also want to re organise my home, think more positive thoughts using cognitive thinking so when I think something that is not positive, be aware and change my thought. I also want to finish a lot of UFO, s being unfinished projects. I need to write in my diary daily as it keeps me on track as I love crossing things off at the end of the day. since I have so much to do an its over whelming, I will make a pact with my diary, to do just 15 minutes every single day that I am home, for even part of the day. that way I know it will get done as I will do more. nice chatting to all you ladies and the positive feedback had been great.

  11. Ann Stubley says:

thanks everyone for the last month of support. I am amazed at what I now WANT to do, de clutter is next on the list, as well as the last few kilos I want to lose, and the new clothes I am going to buy.

  12. Marla Forgues-Kostis says:

Thank you for offering this challenge! I have read, and checked in, every day, and am off to a great start, thanks to you 🙂 I have also started doing the 5 min. per day organizing challenge, and I am clearing my physical space at the same time as my body. It feels good!

  13. WayneDee Snyder says:

My good friend Kay said it BEST. This has been a very good and challenging month and I’ll KEEP IT UP! Thank you so much. Also loved the LIST of Number 2 for today’s news. VERY wise and good and worthy “ommissions or commissions”!

  14. Danielle Desjardins says:

I can’t believe we are already at the end. I have lost another 5 pounds this month and waiting for my evaluation tomorrow morning at the gym to see how much more inches I have lost. I have about 10 pounds left to my goal of 145 pounds by June 7th for my daughter’s graduation.
I am usually a positive person so my goal will be to go shopping after the weight loss to find clothes that will show my weight loss and show the right curves, and then to try to put make-up on regularly. Putting on make-up is a big deal for me cause I never know if I have put too much or too little, but people say I look good with it on. I will do my best and ask my friend from church to hold me accountable for it:)
Thank you Michelle for this program:)

  15. Nancy Nethercott says:

These past 30 days have been encouraging and rewarding…lost only 2 kilo but have toned up and will continue to lose 🙂

Last April you offered the 30 day decluttering missions. I wasn’t able to focus on that at the time (we were too focused on disaster relief after the tsunami, etc here in March) so I put the emails in a folder and will now use them to get organized in that area! Yay!

  16. Barb Chapman says:

I was getting down about the fact that whenever I faithfully stay committed to exercise, I gain weight. This has been true this month as well. As I came around the corner from my walk…1/2 block from home…a neighbor showed up. He said, “look at me, I’m getting in such good shape!” He’s been going at it for 5 years and he looks great. He ran a 10 k in January. I guess I shouldn’t look at what has happened in the past month, but can I still be faithful in making the changes over the coming 6 months, 8 months, year? One step at a time…

  17. Irene Fitzpatrick says:

I’m going to print these out and try to incorporate the action that I think will help me the most into my everyday life and so on. I have actually completed all of the activities over the month, which has been wonderful and taught me a lot. I’ve also made 2 new Australian friends 🙂 Thank you Michelle! I bought 52 organizing missions last year and I think I’m up to #3, so I’ll get started on that again 🙂 Thanks once again, good luck to everyone and regards, Irene aka Calendula.
