Day 14: Get Equipped For Exercise | 30-Day Weight Loss-athon

Here we are at Day 14 of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon.
All tasks in the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon are adapted from the 52 Weight Loss Missions program.
Read the steps first, then take 10 minutes to complete them.

What You Need:
- Pen
- Paper
- A shopping trip.
Step 1
On Day 13 we we tackled any actions needed to clear the way for exercising. Today let’s turn to supplies.
Let’s start by making a list of any clothes, equipment or other stuff you need for your exercise program.
Consider:
- Workout clothes
- Supportive sports bra
- Appropriate shoes – eg if running, get shoes that offer running support
- Gym/sports bag
- Water bottle
- Towel
- Sport-specific equipment – eg racquets, balls, skipping rope, swimming costume, boxing gloves, etc
- iPod
- Gadgets – eg heart rate monitor, pedometer, etc
- Workout diary (to track your workouts and log improvements).
Step 2
Next, either head out now to collect your supplies, or make a date in your diary for this shopping trip.
If your budget allows, I recommend you get yourself the cutest workout clothes you can find. Also consider upgrading your water bottle, iPod, and exercise accouterments if they’re old or scruffy. Let’s get every bit of motivation working for you.

Thankfully neither walking nor Tai Chi require any special equipment or clothing! I have what I need!
I love my water bottle… and I live in sweats lately so when I lose some weight I promised myself to go out and buy new pretty workout clothes!
oops I’m a day late.. my list is to load my hardly used ipod and to get an exercise mat.
I have every thing that I need but I am going to go and buy myself a nice pair of shorts to wear because my other ones need retiring.
Got everything I need, and have been doing Zumba daily with some friends… Feel great! Thanks Michele for getting us motivated. 🙂

I recently bought a few new things (water bottle, tops, iTunes card) but a second pair of shoes and a few new pair of pants will have to wait until they fit in the budget.
I Added CDs for dancing exercises! I already have the clothes and no need for shoes! ^^
I should also collect some suitable music though!
I am set for workout equipment, clothes and accessories. I tend to use new workout goodies as a reward for meeting my goals!
Need pedometer and diary notebook.
Any recommendations for a good pedometer- lasts but not too expensive?
Have everything I need, just need to figure out my schedule to do things since things have changed so radically. Still trying to get my mind around that.
Day 1, bad start for me. I laid on the couch just now to read my emails. Excited to start, I asked my daughter to bring the pen and paper to me. A guilty thought of what I had just done. Lost the opportunity of getting it for myself. Heather Sinclair
I bought new sexy underwear! And my behind looks amazing…I feel amazing…I paraded in my new undies and was not hiding under a baggy t-shirt! More squats please!
I am going to buy a really nice bathing suit for aquafit, mine are getting destroyed by the chlorine or are too big! I am also going to buy new shoes for walking! hmmm an iPod that would be nice too! something to think about!
in the last few weeks I have bought a couple of new exercise clothes. all that’s left on my list is to find a decent priced one-piece for aqua zumba!
Great list! I have most of the items I will need, but there are a few that I hadn’t thought of. I already have a shopping day planned for Monday, so I will add these to my list.
While I didn’t go shopping for any of these things, I did go shopping for a new bathing suit yesterday, and that maybe one of those things you add as inspiration, because if that doesn’t make you want to hit the gym more often…NOTHING will.
I am a check list gal, so I want to get myself an agenda where I can track my weekly workouts and plan for them. I also want to use this as a food calorie and water intake tracker. I went to look once this week and couldn’t find one. I’ll go out again today to search.
Have everything I need, one thing I’ve always made sure I have when exercising is good sneakers. When I was 8 involved in car accident and I got head injuries which resulted in the right side of my body getting effected mostly my right leg and foot so I always make sure I have good supporting shoes when exercising.
I was able to get a commitment from Hubby in the morning and a friend in the evening. I am leaning towards the colors orange and lime for one walking outfit. I already have pink shoes! My son has a purple Ipod I can use. The neighborhood will see me comin’ 🙂
