Day 10: Detox Your Diet Supplies | 30-Day Weight Loss-athon
10
Apr
Here we are at Day 10 of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon. We’re one-third of the way through!
All tasks in the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon are adapted from the 52 Weight Loss Missions program.
Read the steps first, then take 10 minutes to complete them.
Move fast, act quickly and stop over-thinking. Ready?
What You Need:
- A big trash bag.
Step 1
Today we want to get rid of foods that remind you of old habits and sabotage your new eating program.
First, let’s review the specific actions you chose on:
- Day 4: Tweak Your Diet
- Day 7: Count The Calories That Really Count
- Day 8: Splurge Strategically Part 1
- Day 9: Splurge Strategically Part 2.
Based on these decisions, make a list of foods you need to clean out of your life so you can stick to your diet actions.
You only need to detox your space according to the specific actions you’ve chosen. If you’re giving up desserts, then get rid of the desserts. If you’re cutting down on alcohol, then put the alcohol out of view. Make list of all the foods you will dispose of.
Step 2
Right, now let’s go around to all the areas you keep food and clean them out.
We need to detox:
- The pantry
- Your car
- Other cars you use
- Your desk drawers
- Your nightstand
- Your purse
- The basement
- Anywhere else you store food.
Take the discarded items straight outside to the trash. It’s okay – I’ll wait.
Yes, you’re wasting food. But it’s less of a waste than if it took up residence as fat on your body and disappointment in your mind. Let it go.
Step 3
If you want to detox your space of treats that other household members want to keep, what do you do? Ask them to store their treats out of the pantry or any place where you may accidentally come across them. You may have to remind them a couple of times. 🙂

Bye bye chips!
This will be easy as I already got rid of a lot of those snacky things over the weekend. It is actually in a bag to “share” at work this week.
This is easy. I only have food in the kitchen. Only bad thing is the bag of chocolate chips, but they are for baking not for snacking.

I have recently done this when I started my diet and my husband is willing to eat whatever healthy foods I cook for myself.

I’m happy to say, we keep very little junk around, as a rule. My dark chocolate is out of sight and not quickly accessible in the areas of the house where I usually hang out. I try to keep apples and whole grain crackers and almonds in view, with berries or carrots almost always in the fridge and easy reach. Chips are only bought when we’re expecting company to eat them! Or maybe for Super Bowl or some other special occasion.
Since my girls have left the nest, I don’t buy a lot of snacks. Here lately I have been buying a lot of fruit to snack on.

Great tips to reduce temptation. That’s what I had to do to quit smoking. No cigarettes and no reminders like ashtrays and lighters. If you hate to waste food, take it to work and leave it in the kitchen area. You may be able to donate to a local food bank. Give it to thin friends and neighbors.
I do the groceries so I have been careful of not buying stuff that I don’t want to eat, but when I do buy chips or other stuff for hubby and kids, I put them in a cupboard that I don’t use. Also for chips, which is the biggest thing here with the family, I buy them rarely and only if it’s a good special.

Not really too much junk food in my house since I have already been trying to keep healthy food at home. Nothing in my desk or car either. My struggle is the venting machine at work. Fortunately since I startes this 10 days ago I have not visited the vending machine once for snacks or a diet soda. Some easter candy at home but I will stay away from that, the kids already took theirs out of sight.

A person essentially lend a hand to make critically articles I would state. This is the very first time I frequented your web page and to this point? I amazed with the research you made to make this actual publish extraordinary. Great process!
