What is the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon?
If you took action on just a fraction of what you already know about weight loss, you’d lose weight, right? Don’t sass me babe – you know it’s true!
Which is why our motto is: It’s Not What You Know, It’s What You Do.
The 30-Day Weight Loss-athon is about doing. A whole month (April 2012) of tiny-but-powerful actions that help you lose weight.
Here’s how it works:
- Each day in April I’ll give you a 10-minute task related to weight loss.
That’s right – just a teeny weeny 10 minutes! I might ask you to plan, buy, organize or do something. Some tasks will be physical, like walking around the block; others will take no more movement than your synapses firing. All will be something simple, or at least broken down into easy-to-follow steps. - Each day you read and complete your action.
You can get your daily action by subscribing to the blog via email, checking on Facebook, or following on Twitter (#30DW). - After completing your task, you check in on that day’s post.
You can check in by leaving a comment to say you’ve done the task on either that day’s blog post or that day’s Facebook post. Even if you don’t do the action, check in daily so you maintain momentum and keep your commitment. You don’t have to be perfect but you do have to be committed.
That’s only 10 minutes a day for 30 days – totally achievable.
Will I lose weight?
Weight loss, like most things, is largely cause and effect. Sure there are special circumstances, like medication or certain health conditions. But for the most part, if you take action, you get results.
I’ve run these kinds of programs before, and what they do is get you taking action. You overcome procrastination, let go of perfectionism, build momentum and gain confidence – and you change your life. People are amazed at what they achieve in just a few minutes each day.
I can’t promise that you’ll lose a certain amount of weight. But I can promise that if you complete the daily tasks you’ll become an action taker, and you’ll give your mind and body a great jump-start to weight loss.
Some of you will lose weight, others will break through exercise blocks or emotional-eating barriers, others will become better organized to make smarter diet choices.
Achievable and motivating. But wait – there’s more…
What does it cost?
The 30-Day Weight Loss-athon does cost you two things – commitment and time.
If you want to be part of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon then you need to commit. Leave a comment below to say you’re committed. This is crucial. By making this commitment, you tell yourself that you mean business.
Plus you need to allow 10 minutes each each day to complete your action. Pfft – it’s a tiny cost for a more healthy, gorgeous you.
Achievable, motivating, and fun!
What if I’m a 52 Weight Loss Missions customer?
Well first, you’re clearly awesome.
But also, this program will turbo-charge your motivation for 52 Weight Loss Missions. Plus there’ll be some bonus actions just for you. 🙂

I don’t need to lose any more weight but I’m committed. If I can do more to be more healthy, I’m all for it.
Great idea, I’m IN!
I hope I’m not to late. I’m excited to give this a try and be committed!
I am committed! Started my journey with medifast and I’m continuing to lose weight and feel like myself again!
So excited, and definitely committed! I’ve asked a friend of mine to be my accountability partner, and I’m looking forward to the encouragement from the comments/discussion on the blog. Thank you!
Never been on this before, or heard of it…but I need some help getting motivated so will give this a shot! (Sorry just watched bball game).
Ok what is 10 min a day for a month? I can do this. Michelle Freeman Isom I am glad you posted this. It is what I need to get going. Maybe we can keep each other accountable.
I’m committed. 🙂 I’d love to add something on to the activity that I’ve already committed myself to!
Day one: I want to feel sexy and comfortable with a slim and trim waist. I cannot stand my fat Tim any longer!!!
I’m already committed to weight loss (down 40 pounds since Halloween), but i could really use some extra motivation right now.
3 days later…just saw this. I will committ and make up the days!
Okay, I’m on my way to looking good naked 😉 Completed the first mission! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings…
Since it’s my 12th anniversary today and I’m more than a few pounds overweight – that wedding dress will not fit now! – I’m committed!
This is as good a time as any to get started on getting healthy and losing weight! Thank you for this opportunity to be getting healthy with so many others.
I toggle between healthy and not so healthy weeks. I love the confidence I get from healthy days. I want confidence everyday!
5 days behind but I’m committed!
I’m committed. I have worked hard to lose weight and haven’t lost a thing in the last two months. Frustrating and I’m giving up on that! So, I need a shift. Now I am focusing on healthy habits and a commitment to exercising every day. I think with the new focus that the weight will start to take care of itself!
